You prepare meals to the fullest satisfaction of our guests and ensure compliance with Viking River Cruises Standards and HACCP rules.Work place is aboard a 4*-5* river cruise ship sailing all around Europe
General
- Good spoken English skills, itinerary related language in addition is an advantage
- Ability to work independently, service-oriented and guest focused
- Flexibility and stress resistance, team player, commitment, positive personality, neat appearance
Responsibilities
- Assistance with preparation and cooking daily meals (including breakfast, lunch, Tea Time, dinner, etc.) for crew and guests in accordance with Executive Chef Manual and menu cycle
- Handling all groceries, products and galley equipment with care
- Inventory according to instructions
- Separation and disposal of waste / garbage
- Conduction of stock takes; inventory according to company procedures
- Preparation of opening and closing ships at start and end of season
- Assistance in other departments upon instruction from supervisors (if required)
- Performance according to company standards and HACCP rules
- Participation in loadings
- Luggage duty on embarkation and disembarkation days
- Correct storage of stock; establishing of par levels
- Active participation in onboard training programs
- min 1 year experience required
- B1 or B2 spoken English
- Completed training (school) – Hotel and Catering Industry
- 1 day off on board every 14 days, 2 regular vacation days per month, 1 additional vacation day every week, all Swiss or French Public Holidays, contract based on a 6 days working week, during the season of 9 months candidates will have 7-8 weeks of paid vacation
