
We are seeking a talented and experienced Plastic Moulding Tool Designer to join our team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in the design and development of moulds for low pressure moulding and plastic injection moulding. Your work will directly impact our ability to produce top-notch plastic products efficiently and effectively. You will support both our Danish and Serbian site, so you should expect occasional travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including customers engineers/product designers, and in- and external manufacturing experts, to understand project requirements and objectives.
- Design and develop plastic moulding tools, ensuring they meet quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness standards.
- Create 3D models and detailed drawings of moulds using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Perform mold flow analysis to optimize tool designs for production efficiency and product quality.
- Conduct design reviews and make necessary revisions to improve tool performance.
- Select appropriate materials for tool construction, considering factors like durability and cost-effectiveness.
- Collaborate with toolmakers and external suppliers to oversee the fabrication of moulds and ensure they meet design specifications.
- Conduct testing and validation of moulds, making adjustments as needed to achieve desired results.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new materials, and technologies to incorporate into tool designs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in plastic moulding tool design.
- Proficiency in CAD software (we use SolidWorks including mold flow analysis).
- Strong knowledge of plastic materials and their properties.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes related to plastic moulding.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
