Third country nationals can be employed in territory of the Slovak Republic only if they bear employment permit and temporary stay permit for purpose of work, except otherwise stated in the Employment Service Act.\u00a0A third country national shall apply for employment permit on his\/her own or may empower the future employer to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In general, a&nbsp;non-EU national&nbsp;can be employed in Slovakia if he\/she:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>holds an\u00a0<strong>EU Blue Card:<\/strong>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>based on the confirmation<\/strong>&nbsp;of the&nbsp;possibility to fill a&nbsp;vacancy corresponding to high-skilled employment, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>and the&nbsp;Labour&nbsp;Office has issued a consenting&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>confirmation&nbsp;<\/strong>of&nbsp;the&nbsp;possibility to fill a&nbsp;vacancy corresponding to high-skilled employment, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and&nbsp;he\/she has&nbsp;<strong>notified this employer after 12 months<\/strong>&nbsp;of performing high-skilled employment based on the Blue Card, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>based on an application for the&nbsp;<strong>renewal<\/strong>&nbsp;of the Blue Card submitted&nbsp;<strong>after 12 months<\/strong>&nbsp;of performing high-skilled employment&nbsp;under a&nbsp;Blue Card and&nbsp;specified this employer in the renewal application, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and the&nbsp;Labour&nbsp;Office has issued a consenting confirmation of the&nbsp;possibility to fill a&nbsp;vacancy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>has been\u00a0granted\u00a0<strong>temporary residence for the purpose of employment<\/strong>\u00a0(so-called\u00a0<strong>single<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>permit<\/strong>),\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>based on<\/strong>&nbsp;<strong>the confirmation&nbsp;<\/strong>of the possibility to fill in a vacancy, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>and the&nbsp;Labour&nbsp;Office has issued a consenting&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>confirmation&nbsp;<\/strong>of&nbsp;the&nbsp;possibility to fill a&nbsp;vacancy,&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>has been granted\u00a0<strong>a<\/strong>\u00a0work permit<strong>\u00a0and temporary residence for the purpose of employment<\/strong>,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>has been granted\u00a0<strong>a<\/strong>\u00a0work permit<strong>\u00a0and temporary residence for the purpose of\u00a0family reunification<\/strong>\u00a0(within the first\u00a09 months of being granted the residence),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>has been granted\u00a0<strong>a<\/strong>\u00a0work permit<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>and temporary residence as<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>a third-country national\u00a0who has been granted\u00a0<strong>long-term residence in another EU Member State\u00a0<\/strong>(within the first 12 months\u00a0of being granted the residence),\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>has&nbsp;been issued a&nbsp;<strong>consenting confirmation<\/strong>&nbsp;of the possibility to fill in a vacancy corresponding to high-skilled employment and his\/her&nbsp;<strong>application<\/strong>&nbsp;for a Blue Card has been&nbsp;<strong>accepted<\/strong>&nbsp;along with all the necessary documents,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>has&nbsp;been issued a&nbsp;<strong>consenting confirmation<\/strong>&nbsp;of the possibility to fill in a vacancy and his\/her<strong>&nbsp;application<\/strong>&nbsp;for temporary residence for the purpose of employment has been&nbsp;<strong>accepted<\/strong>&nbsp;along with all the necessary documents,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>meets the conditions under which he\/she\u00a0<strong>does not need\u00a0the confirmation of the possibility to fill in a vacancy nor the work permit<\/strong>\u00a0for employment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br>If you need a work permit, a confirmation of the possibility to fill a vacancy or if you hold the EU Blue Card, you\u00a0can\u00a0<strong>only\u00a0<\/strong>work\u00a0under an\u00a0<strong>employment contract)<\/strong>.
