EURES plays an extremely important role in the cross-border regions. Coordination of mobility in the cross-border regions, information queries are facilitated by EURES-T partnerships.
The cross-border regions are catchment areas of employment, which are experiencing a strong cross-border commuting. People living in one country and working in the other country must cope with various national-related differences and various legal systems. They may collide with administration, legal or tax obstacles in their mobility on a daily basis.
EURES-T is an international partnership, which is established in cross-border areas and is a part of the EURES network. Its aim is to meet requirements for information and coordination of job mobility in the cross-border regions. It joins employment services and preparation for occupation, employers and trade unions, local administration authorities, institutions involved in employment and issues of occupational preparation in the cross-border regions and it also includes the European Commission. The aim of this partnership is to create and administer: a network of service providers on one hand and political and administration network (regionally based) on the other hand, which develops “a framework for dialogue and consultations between management and work in the employment area” and thus contribute to development of cross-border areas at economic and social levels and remove obstacles in employee mobility.
The mission is to cover information, pieces of advice and help in labour market deployment with respect to free movement of employees, especially in the cross-border regions. In addition to this mission EURES T fulfils other two tasks: to create a database of professional training opportunities in area covered by this partnership and make it available to the public, create the framework for dialogue and consultations between management and work in the employment area.
The overall objective is to enable a free movement of people in the cross-border areas along internal borders of the European Economic Area and contribute to development, integration and smooth running of cross-border employment area.
Participants of EURES T are citizens, corporations, institutions and organizations involved in the cross-border mobility.
